The Australian Shepherd is another breed that needs a lot of exercise. Bred as guard dogs and disaster rescue dogs, these puppies need daily walks and runs or behavioral problems are allowed to develop. With small children to care for, this breed's needs may be too great for parents with multiple children to chase after. Australian Shepherds are also often uncomfortable meeting new people, and with play dates a weekly ordeal, this can be less than ideal.
