The 90s movie Beethoven is responsible for making the St. Bernard breed famous. Although they can be trained, their playful nature makes the task even more difficult. Saint Bernards are very good with children, but their enormous size makes it almost impossible for them to knock over anything and anyone in their path. They are excellent family dogs, but their stature makes them very difficult for people with young children.
